Join us for a night of dance, community, and reflection in this year’s Spring Split Bill performance. We couldn’t be happier to have Satellite Dance joining NDC in this split-bill format. Satellite Dance brings care, adaptability, and wonderful menageries of local aerialists and dancers together for shows, classes, and community events throughout Nashville and beyond. For this year's event they are premiering "Syncretism, a Study". Syncretism is blending different traditions, cultures, or disciplines. Choreographed by Artistic Director Sarah Atenhan, their performance explores the evolving relationship between aerial acrobatics and contemporary dance, demonstrating how two distinct movement languages can merge into an impactful art form.

Additionally, NDC is stoked to feature the first ever guest appearance from MOVE Inclusive’s newly formed performance group who have been working hard in their Bellevue and Franklin studios to bring you another premiere dance piece! Founded in 2018, MOVE Inclusive has provided so much for the Nashville community by empowering individuals of all ability levels to connect with and use dance not just as a form of expression but as a tool to teach life skills.

To end the evening is the premiere of NDC’s, “SELF:”. In this performance our ever-growing collection of dance artists premiere a trio of “almost punk” contemporary dance works driven by alt dance rock music. While catchy lyrics worm into your ears, the dancers thrash on chairs, play with plastic, and endure simple, ominous introspection. We bring movement not trying to answer, but express: Who do I see in my reflection? Who do others see? What made me who I am? Was it them or me? What do YOU see when YOU look? Are you sure? WHO IS IN CONTROL? - Questions that seem to always end up dangling in uncomfortable places…
